So, anyway. I've completed Disc 1 today and for the first time, ever...
I cried when Aeris died.
Now, I always cry when Cait Sith sacrifices himself at the Temple of the Ancients because, even though he's a stuffed toy, he's talking about how there will only ever be one original Cait Sith, and it's just sad, okay? ¬_¬ He's so selfless, and realises that he will be destroyed, but for the greater good. It's strange, though. I don't even like him as a character and never, EVER use him in battle. But he has some damn good scripting for that short scene.
So, how come I don't usually cry when Aeris, a human being, as it were, dies? I knew it was coming. It's just something everybody who's ever heard of FF7 knows, without fail. But for some reason, this time, when Cloud lowers Aeris into the water, and she just sinks - I started bawling my eyes out.
I dislike her character even less than Cait Sith. She's just so weak, irregardless of how much you train her up, no matter what Limit Break she gets - She's like Rinoa, that's who she is! And she distracts Cloud from Barrett (But, thankfully, I always have Barrett on the date with Cloud in Gold Saucer ;D). But I decided to do the Wutai sidequests and so trained her up when I was with Yuffie, because she wouldn't leave the party, as we were supposed to be headed for Temple of the Ancients.
Maybe I have feelings for her after all, but then, crying at a Final Fantasy game, or just games in general is nothing new. I cried at the end of FF9 when Freya's Fratley still fails to remember her. When Vivi asks when he will 'stop.' When Zidane goes baxck to Kuja. When Zidane calls everyone a babysitting bastard. In X, when Auron is sent by Yuna, fades to pyreflies and is sent to the Farplane. When Tidus fades, and when he finally tells Jecht he hates him. At the end of Metal Gear Solid 4, when Snake is crawling through a microwave filled corridor and you have to force him along. When Ocelot dies. When you think Snake shoots himself, and when it turns out he didn't. And when Big Boss dies - That one is without fail. The fact that Metal Gear Saga is playing in the background, and Here's to You immediately after doesn't help, either. And I always shudder whenever you see the Sorrow in MGS3: Snake Eater. And I cry when the Boss dies, because she is just so selfless, a true...

IGNORE ME! I am well drunk from the Hock

Ignore the typo in the middle of the screen, look at the extremely innocent suggestiveness.
I'm getting such ideas I'm, um, quivering, like, all over. I would. I so totally would. I don't have to say what I would, I'm sure you'll get the same damn ideas, yourself.

Makes me wonder what's the entire purpose of the damn Mature tag, since everything any other place would consider falling under it is banned? Even fanfiction.net isn't this uptight.

First, I whip it out. Then I thrust it with great force... Every angle, it penetrates... Until, with great strength... I RAM it in. In the end, we are all satisfied, and you... Are set free. ~ Dante.
But I tell you what it does, though. Makes me want to write the most indecently described story of something perfectly innocent, I dunno, like Balthier or some such, eating a so very, very juicy apple. Damn sure it'll be pornographic, but not under their own rules...
